Can Invisalign fix an overbite?
Quick answer
Can Invisalign fix an overbite, crowding or gaps?
In many cases, yes. Invisalign can treat crowding, gaps, most overbites and underbites, crossbites and teeth that have moved back after old braces.
Severe jaw discrepancies may need fixed braces or a referral. At York House Dental Practice in West Byfleet, a 3D scan and consultation shows whether your case is suitable before you commit. Invisalign is typically £3,995, from £2,995 to £4,495 depending on complexity.
What you need to know
An overbite is when the upper front teeth overlap the lower ones too much. Aligners move teeth using small tooth-coloured attachments and, for bite correction, sometimes elastics that hook between the upper and lower trays. Wearing elastics as instructed is often what makes bite correction work.
Mild crowding and gaps are usually the quickest cases. Deep bites and rotated teeth take longer and may need refinement trays at the end, which are included in a complete case.
If your bite is caused by the jaw bones themselves rather than the teeth, aligners alone may not be enough — we will tell you at the consultation rather than start something that cannot finish well. See braces and Invisalign and Invisalign in West Byfleet.
