Benefits of White Dental Fillings
Natural Tooth-Coloured Match
Composite resin is custom shade-matched to your surrounding enamel, rendering your filling virtually invisible.
Preserves Natural Tooth Structure
White composite resin bonds directly to enamel, requiring less tooth removal compared to old amalgam fillings.
Tooth-Coloured & Metal-Free
Composite resin is tooth-coloured and contains no metal, so the filling blends in with the rest of your tooth.
Amalgam Replacement
If an old silver filling is cracked, leaking or decayed, we can replace it with a tooth-coloured one. Sound amalgam fillings don't need replacing for health reasons, but some patients replace them for appearance.
What to Expect During Placement
Shade Selection & Numbing
We match the exact shade of your tooth enamel and ensure the area is fully comfortable under local numbing.
Decay Removal & Preparation
Gentle removal of decay, leaving as much natural tooth structure intact as possible.
Layering & LED Light Curing
High-grade composite resin is layered into the cavity and hardened instantly using a blue LED curing light.
Shaping & High Polish
The filling is sculpted to match your natural bite and polished smooth for a seamless feel.

White Fillings FAQs
How long do white fillings last?
With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, high-quality composite white fillings typically last 7 to 10+ years.
Can I replace my old silver amalgam fillings with white fillings?
Yes. We usually recommend replacing an amalgam filling when it is cracked, leaking or has decay around it. Sound amalgam fillings don't need replacing for health reasons, but you can choose tooth-coloured fillings for appearance.
Do white fillings hurt?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic, so most people feel only pressure and vibration while the filling is placed. The numbness wears off within a few hours.
How much do white fillings cost in West Byfleet?
White fillings start from £175. The cost depends on the size of the cavity and the tooth involved, and we give you clear written costs before treatment.
